          Subject: Help for VA claim

I am trying to obtain information about a SSgt Mahoney who was a platoon sergeant/platoon leader of the 2d and 3d platoons of Bravo Company, 2d of the 501st in 70-71 or any other soldier of those platoons who may know Pfc John J. Marlowe, who served in that unit from 25Jul70 through 24Jul71. He needs a statement from anyone who was there at that time to prove that he was "in combat", and to help prove his claim for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I am the counselor at Key Largo VA Outpatient Clinic, and am trying to help him with his claim.

          For: Don Short

I am working for a constituent trying to establish a service related disability from Vietnam. Don Short's military records are in shambles, and he has been unsuccessful in substantiating his claim. He has told me that he served directly with a Korean unit and that they participated in some classified operations which landed him in the hospital more than once. I have exhausted all of the bureaucratic channels I can think of, and would love to help Don out. If anyone served with Don, or has information about US soldiers serving directly in Korean units, please respond quickly. Don's condition is terminal, and he wants to establish benefits before he passes away.
